Food Webs

In this tutor led session learners will explore the interactions and energy flow between plants and animals with learners developing their understanding of how species depend on one another and on the environment for survival.

This session starts with an introduction to producers, consumers and food webs. Then we get hands on dissecting (fake) animal poo and owl pellets to work out who eats who in our garden. We'll use what we learn to construct a food web and we'll consider how problems for one animal or plant can affect the whole food web.

This session is designed to reinforce and complement the Curriculum for Excellence, and depending on your classes level will focus on either SCN 0-01a, SCN 1-02a or SCN 2-02a.
