Welcome to St Andrews Botanic Garden

Here you will find a living research and conservation experiment where we explore the ways ecology and evolution unfold in the plant kingdom.

Throughout our 18 acre garden you will see examples of some of Fife’s most dynamic habitats and plants from around the world, with research experiments investigating how plants compete, invade and support each other, and how communities assemble in response to their environment.

When you visit you will see that we are a garden in transition, testing new ways of managing and monitoring populations of plants.
