Visit from Willie Rennie MSP
Reading Time less than a minute
Date 6 June 2023
This week we welcomed Willie Rennie, MSP for North East Fife, to meet with our Director Dr Harry Watkins and Development Manager Rebecca Duncan.
We shared a tour of the Garden with Mr Rennie, including time to enjoy the Tangled Bank. This new project recreates some of Fife's most threatened ecosystems, such as sand dunes and woodland meadows, within the Garden - creating opportunities for conversation and conservation. It is fully accessible, and will allow students of all ages to study how plants respond to changing climate.
Willie Rennie has shared:
“It was fantastic to visit St Andrews Botanic Garden and to see the changes they have made over recent years. The Tangled Bank project is a spectacular addition to the gardens and I am sure that it will continue the Botanic Garden’s great work on conversation and sustainability.
“I am grateful to Harry and Rebecca for taking the time to show me around the gardens. I was glad to discuss their ongoing work and plans for the future. I am sure that the Botanic Gardens will continue to be a great asset to St Andrews and North East Fife.”
