Win a camera trap for your class!

Competition for P1 to P7 pupils

In 2019 the theme for St Andrews Botanic Garden is ‘Wildlife Counts’ and as part of this, we are inviting Primary School classes in Fife and Dundee to take part in a cross-curricular competition to show how we can make our school grounds wildlife friendly.

Children should work in groups to design a wildlife area for their school grounds which increases biodiversity. They should decide which habitats to create, which plants to grow, and research which animals, including insects, are likely to visit. They should display their design on a collage ensuring they include labels.

The winning class entry will win a camera trap to record the wildlife that comes to their outdoor space, and a guide on how to use it.

All entries should have the names of the pupils, their class, year and school clearly printed on the reverse and reach The Education Officer, Canongate, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 8RT by Friday April 26th 2019.
