Set in 18 acres in the heart of St Andrews, the Botanic Garden offers a new perspective on a historic town. With woodland walks, meadows, ponds and living laboratories, visitors will find spaces to explore, places to rest and a friendly welcome.

Opening hours

April to September: Open daily 10.00 – 17.00
October to March: Open daily 10.00 – 16.00

Last entry is 30 minutes before close. Please ring us on 01334 461 200 or check this website and our social media for updates. We are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year. In extreme weather, the Botanic Garden may close.

St Andrews Botanic Garden welcomes all visitors and we aim to provide the best possible access to everyone so that you can enjoy your visit.

There are two blue badge parking spaces in the car park.

Accessible toilets are located in the Visitor Centre.

Wheelchairs are available at the Visitor Centre at no extra cost: please book in advance if you can.

Highly trained assistance animals are welcome at the Botanic Garden. Water is available for assistance dogs.

The Visitor Centre and shop are evenly and well lit, and can be easily accessed by wheelchair.

There is a c.1,200m accessible walk that is suitable for wheelchairs, prams and buggies.

The majority of the Botanic Garden is served by grass, chipping and bare earth paths, with steep slopes (steeper than 1:10) and steps in limited locations.
