Nature of the Seasons: Autumn/Winter (Suitable for nurseries, lower and upper primary)

 

Description

In this session, children will get to explore the signs of the season in the garden, as well as learning how wildlife adapts to the season and ways we can help wildlife in Autumn and Winter.

A Natural Christmas (Suitable for lower and upper primary)

 

Description

Children will get to take part in an interactive trail in the garden to find out more about the plants we associate with Christmas and their traditional uses.  They will also get to make Christmas decorations using natural materials.

My World of Nature (Suitable for lower and upper primary)

 

Description

In this session, children take part in a variety of different activities designed to engage their senses in the natural world. They will also create a work of natural art to take home. The workshop for lower primary will include activities on simple classification and the workshop for upper primary pupils will include a sensory challenge.

Resourceful Rainforests (Suitable for upper primary)

Description

In this session, children will discover the amazing plants that exist in one of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth and their importance to us by taking part in interactive activities in the glass class and exploring our tropical glasshouse. In addition, there will be a chance to explore the biodiversity that exists in our temperate rainforests in Scotland through a series of activities outdoors in the garden.

Charges

 

Workshops are designed so that you can choose a selection over the course of a day:

 

Fully day visit (3 hour of activities)        £5 per pupil

Half day visit (2 hours of activities):       £4 per pupil

One hour workshop                                   £3 per pupil

 

Teachers, support staff and parent helpers are free of charge.

 

Facilities

Free car park, coach parking, outdoor and indoor picnic area, gift shop, teashop, toilets, baby change and disabled toilet.
