This area was created in 1996 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UN, and has at its centre the beautiful Peace Stone sculpture (a gift from St Andrews UN Committee). It is full of colour and scent, especially during winter and spring.

A large witch hazel (Hammamelis japonica ‘Arborea’) and winter box (Sarcococca hookeriana var. humilis) brighten the depths of winter with their wonderful fragrance, followed in spring by the beautiful blooms of Magnolia stellata ‘Waterlily’ and Prunus sargentii.
